Monel alloy 400 (UNS N04400-28-1.5-1.8 or Ni68Cu28Fe or MCu) is a water, chemical solvents, ammonia, chlorine, hydrogen chloride, sulfur acid medium such as sulfuric acid, hydrofluoric acid, hydrochloric acid, phosphoric acid, organic acid, in alkaline medium, salt, and molten salt has good corrosion resistance of nickel base alloy material.

welding
The welding performance of monel 400 alloy seamless steel pipe and tube is good. TIG and MIG method can be adopted.Or manual arc welding and submerged arc welding;It can be welded with carbon steel and low alloy steel.
Processing
The alloy can be machined by machining traditional iron - based materials.Water coolant is used in high speed machine.The shrinkage of the material in the process, attention should be paid to the shrinkage allowance to ensure dimensional accuracy.

Monel 400 alloy pipes tubes has excellent resistance to corrosion by many reducing media such as sulfuric and hydrochloric acids. It is generally more resistant to corrosion by oxidizing media than higher copper alloys. Monel 400 resists pitting and stress corrosion cracking in most fresh and industrial waters. It has good resistance in flowing seawater, but under stagnant conditions, pitting and crevice corrosion is induced. Monel 400 is probably the most resistant to hydrofluoric acid in all concentrations up to the boiling point, of all engineering alloys. Monel 400 is notable for its toughness, it does not show embrittlement tendency at cryogenic temperatures. It is work hardenable.

Applications:
